Where did you
create this artifact? The “Modern Socially Interactive Learning Tools and Flexible
Teaching Strategies for Digital Literate Gen Z Students research paper”
artifact was created during course MEDIA-710 Learning Technology. I chose
this topic to review concerns I found in my initial research that the older
baby boomers and Gen X generation of academic professionals must maintain
their own technology skills while working within outdated change-resistant
academic professional practices with rigidly traditional institutional
policies and procedures. The “Video Banking ICT Adoption” artifact was created during course
INMG-700 Learning Technology. I chose this topic because I have some work
experience in researching and evaluating new technologies and Video Banking
is a new ICT that seems to be gaining interest throughout the financial
industry. What I Learned,
How did you learn this? In reading several studies and articles on ICT learning technologies
I learned that academic gains can be accomplished by utilizing ICT type
learning technologies such as Web 2.0 and Social Learning models. As a distance education student I can
related to and contribute first hand to the discussion on the advantages and
challenges of using Web 2.0 tools such as discussion boards, web videos, and
the internet infrastructure as tools to delivery educational material to
students. As I worked to develop a research methodology for my research
proposal I learned methods for writing strong research hypotheses and survey questions;
how to use Measurement to limit data of any phenomenon-substantial
(observable) or insubstantial (concepts) so that those data may be
interpreted and, ultimately, compared to an acceptable qualitative or
quantitative standard; how to use Statistical Estimation by performing
T-Tests, Z-Tests, Confidence Interval test and correlation test. Why this is
important: I believe that Web 2.0 technologies are important as they can be
used to solve the problem statement in my paper that some of our United
States academic professionals and academic institutions have not yet provided
accommodating modern socially interactive learning tools and flexible
teaching strategies for tech savvy Gen Z students, academic institutions and
the Workplace learning Professionals
(WLP) community can begin plans to embrace and integrate Web 2.0
technologies throughout the life cycle of the educational process from
pre-school through adult continuing education program. I also believe that learning to use statistical tools is important
because it can be these tools can be used in research to helps describe the
amount of uncertainty associated with a sample estimate of a population
parameter and allows the researcher to look at things that already exist and
determines if and in what way those things are related to each other by
measuring how associated or related two variables are. Statistical test and tools can also be used
to determine the level of marginal significance within a statistical
hypothesis test, representing the probability of the occurrence of a given
event. How can you apply?
In my role as a graduate student I will embrace Web 2.0 technologies
utilized in my ICT program and work to increase my knowledge and skills in
using these tools to achieve my academic goals. I will actively pursue opportunities to
integrate modern ICT learning tools into my work environment by increasing my
use of social media and mobile technologies in our product and service. I can use statistical test and tools to assist me with evaluating
new technology when I also have empirical data that can be measured and
provide variables that can be used as part of a statistical analysis
methodology. What challenges
& obstacles did you overcome? Before writing my research paper I was challenged by being bias on
the advantages and benefits technology purports to be able to achieve in the
area of improving the learning environment.
I was able to overcome this bias by accepting the fact that the
research did not support my vision of technology being the absolute cure for
all that ills in the field of teaching and training. By objectively analyzing the sources I
found and presenting opposite and opposing viewpoints I believe added value
to the end results and actually made my research paper better. Learning and understanding the statistical tools in INMG 700 was a
challenge as it had been many years since I had been in a stats or math
class. I was able to overcome the
challenge by using my technology skills and experience to quickly learn the
excel formulas utilized to complete and solve the stats problems presented in
lecture, homework, and exams. |

RESEARCH
PROPOSAL:
Video Banking ICT Adoption. In this
research report I will provide a literature review of video banking ICT technologies and provide
a critical analysis of factors that contribute to the success and failure of
implementing a widely consumer accepted solution. Research
analysis will be utilized to present a historical perspective of past technology,
evaluate current technologies and review future trends and opportunities for
large scale successful implementations. |
