Where did you
create this artifact? The “Discussion” artifacts were created during courses ICT 702
Seminar in Information and Communication Technologies and ICT 701 Information
and Communication Technologies in Organizations. One of the requirements of
Student Centered Learning (SCL) program is that students actively participate in
online discussions, I created theses artifacts to fulfill part of the
course requirements. What I
Learned: I learned that the Student Centered Learning (SCL) program offered
at UW Stout allows the student to somewhat alter the tradition learning
process by being able to have input on the overall earning a degree
process steps of what is learned ,
where you learn it and when you learn
it. My user perspective is that SCL is a huge advantage for me to be able to
manage my own time and learning experiences.
The ICT innovation utilized by SCL like Discussions Boards, Online
Delivery of course content, Video presentations, and email are an excellent
use of social media technologies to accomplish a tangible admirable
educational goal. This may be also be
a good example of the Technological Perspective on ICT were the SCL
technology suitability and accessibility acts as an enabler to the UW stout
distance education SCL process. Why this is
important: A large part of sales forecasting for new ICT is predicting the
effects it will have on your customer base.
I find this especially true when trying to build a business case, ROI
or cost benefit analysis for many ICT implementations. If you grossly over estimate or underestimate
the effects of your ICT project you can end up with a large expense on your
books and no revenue gains to offset it. How can you apply?
When predicting ICT effects I will strive to be conservative in
estimates and practical in projecting implementation schedules and
outcomes. I will attempt to research
similar industry ICT implementations and base my effects analysis on past
historical outcomes. When possible I will
select experience vendors and staff as implementers to help ensure that the
anticipated effects are not inhibited from coming to realization due to lack
of ICT talent. What challenges
& obstacles did you overcome? I found that analyzing the effects of
an ICT implementation poses some unique challenges. The process of analyzing the effects
includes determining the consequences of the ICT implementation on the
organization and the individual involve but as the textbook states, “...ICT
effects are ambiguous, contradictory and hard to determine...” To overcome this challenge my research
goal was to review scholarly refereed data sources both past and present and
then objectively perform critical analysis of all the relevant literature
found before forming a conclusion or recommendation. |

DISCUSSION: In what ways might we expect to see AI
effect people psychologically under the presumption that AI will expand into
more and more elements and settings of our lives? ·
DISCUSSION: The Use of ICT is determined by personal
preferences, user styles and organizational cultures. ·
